How to Stop Wage Garnishments Immediately

Bankruptcy Lawyer

You’ve been trying to pay your bills, but ran short each month.  And, sometg had to give, so you stopped paying the credit cards.  Then, they sued you, and got a court judgment.  Now, your boss just got a Wage Deduction Order, or a “brick” on your check.  What to do?

Now, up to 15 percent of your gross pay can be deducted from your paycheck for the debt.  That’s a lot of money!  You need the money to live!  You need to stop the deductions! There are limited ways to stop the deductions.   You need to act quickly to prevent the money from coming out of your paycheck.  Usually, your employer has 30 days to turn over the money coming from your paycheck. This is your “window of opportunity”.  You might be able to stop the deductions before they start.

You need to file Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 Bankruptcy to stop the deductions. Once you file a Bankruptcy case, the filing automatically stops all of the deductions, right away!

Even if the money has started coming from your paycheck, it’s not too late!  You can also file bankruptcy to stop further deductions. But, you cannot get the money back once it is deducted.

It is important to call us right away!  The longer you wait, the more money you will lose!

We have offices in Chicago, Gurnee, Oak Lawn, and Skokie, in Illinois, and we can help you quickly to stop the money from coming out of your paycheck.   We offer free in-depth consultations.
