How to Fill out Schedules in Bankruptcy Case- Consult an Experienced Bankruptcy Attorney

Question on Avvo.com:

I am in the process of filing chapter 13 to stop a home foreclosure. A few days ago, I received a letter from my mortgage company (who holds the note) stating my loan servicing would be sold to another company. Do I include both mortgage companies on schedule A or just the new loan servicer?

Answer:

Chapter 13 is a very complicated process. It is important that you consult with an experienced bankruptcy attorney to discuss your options, and the consequences of filing. In order to try to save your home, the Chapter 13 filing must be done right. And, it’s not just a matter of filling out forms. Filing any type of bankruptcy on your own is not an easy task, and you could still lose your home, or you create further problems. Most bankruptcy attorneys offer free consultations, as I do, and that’s the best place to start.
